Hartford Audubon Society, PLEASE volunteer

Dear Hartford Audubon Society Members,

We are in need of a volunteer for the Membership Chair and Mail administrator within the membership committee.

The Member Chair focuses on entering membership for new members and updating renewal records.  With our new database this process is simple and straightforward.  This position also files a hardcopy print and mails out packets to new members.  

The Mail Admin, picks up mail at our West Hartford Post office, sorts the mail and helps with sorting delivery.  According to Anne Ibister who will be retiring from this post, most of the mail that comes through is for renewal membership and she pointed out that this year it was significantly less.  That is due to members making payments through the new online payment system.

It would be wonderful if the two positions were merged as one.  One does not need to live in West Hartford, perhaps you work nearby.  There is even a new postal office app that shares a prompt on whether or not the HAS PO box has had mail delivered ... No more random stop-bys for pickup.

These volunteer positions are more streamlined than ever and with our new online payment system, there is less paperwork to handle and less mail to pick up or sort.

Won't you consider one or both of these positions?  Please email me to help with this important function within our all volunteer organization.  Our chair person, Marcia Reno is currently local and it would be great if she could pass the baton in person.

note: The club does a bulk mail for renewals in August, this is not part of the member chair taskset.  Chris Fisher is the liaison for the handbook directory / member database.
