Dear Maria,

Greetings

How are you doing? I am in Nepal working with Lutheran World Federation as Program Coordinator taking overall-in-charge of the program. I have also conducted HAP in Nepal.

Please update me if you have any new findings and documents. I shall use it in Nepal amongst INGO. In Nepal more than 100 INGO are working in various fields. Unfortunately, HAP I does not exist ( at least to my knowledge).

Please pass my "warm regards" to everybody there.

Warm regards,

ANOJ CHHETRI

Dear Anoj,

Thank you for your email.

It is wonderful news that you are advocating  humanitarian accountability and quality issues  with the numerous NGOs in Nepal.

We are glad that your commitment to this is still strong and you are making use of  your participation in the Training of Trainers held in Pakistan in late 2006.

·         Since then the HAP 2007 Standard in  Humanitarian Accountability and Quality Management  was approved by the  HAP General Assembly and its implementation guide has also been published.  I have attached this for you and other  members of the group.

This will be of great help to you and others in their work.

·         As you know organizations which apply  the HAP 2007 Standard in their work can gain  international recognition  by means of  HAP certification.  We are happy to announce that we have  5  HAP certified international agencies and more in the pipeline.

(Please note that to be certified  you don’t need to be a HAP member.)

·         I would request you and all other members to regularly check the HAP website: www.hapinternational.org and  the Pakistan page as well ( it comes under field support section). It is a useful site for information and documents and other reports.

·         There is a HAP group (humanitarian accountability partnership) on facebook as well which you mish to join to share news, network and  be updated.

Anoj, thank you for your email and work and feel free to request other documents. Sharing of experiences, relevant documents, improving levels of  humanitarian accountability and quality  and keeping updated about the South Aisan  humanitarian sector  is the purpose of this group.

Do not hesitate to contact me incase you need further information: maria...@hapinternational.org

Best Wishes

Maria

PS: Sarah Farooqi has left HAP after her marriage and move to Saudi Arabia. Shaukat Iqbal  ( you might remember him from our TOT) is our new Training  & Research Officer.
