In February 2009, a survey was taken at the well which really helped
to give real numbers to the usage of the well by the public. At the
time, it was estimated that 250 people per day were coming to use the
water from the well. The survey information proved very useful in the
process of the City of Olympia making it's decision to purchase the
Diamond parking lot and making the well permanently available.

H2Olympia is doing another survey, this time in a summer month, to see
what the usage is at the well at this time. The survey days are
Wednesday-Sunday, August 18th - 22nd.

Here's what you can do to help:

1) Go to the well and fill out the questionnaire. Information about
specific types of well and access usage will help in determining the
next steps of the development of public access to the well. Survey
takers will be there WED-SUN AUG 18th-22nd, 8am to 8pm. BE COUNTED.

2) Volunteer for a shift. We need people to assist users of the well
with the questionnaire and tabulating users of the well who don't
chose to fill out the questionnaire. Send an email to
H2ol...@gmail.com. Each day has 3 4-hour shifts 8-am to 8-pm, WED-
SUN. Let us know your availability.

3) Come to an informational meeting at the MIXX 96 conference room
downtown Olympia ( 119 Washington St NE, Olympia, WA 98501) SATURDAY,
AUG 14th NOON. Sign Up for shifts also available at that time.

We really need some help with this survey, so I hope you will consider
volunteering for this historical moment. The City is on-track to
purchase the property the well is on and it is a crucial time for our
beloved artesian well.
