Interest on DHBVN Security Deposit;

Hi All,

 

As i understand while taking bulk connection builder has deposit large security amount to DHBVN (which is actually residents/owners money).

 

DHBVN is suppose to refund interest on security deposit to builder/RWA (ie existing connection holder).

 

Would like to know if Builder/RWA is receiving this money from DHBVN

Dear Sandeep As per my knowledge there is no such provision of interest in the electricity manual whereas the electricity connection should transfer in the name of RWA after 11 month of possession . You are right that security deposit to DHBVN belong to residents only, as we all residents (owners) has paid for DHBVN connection to builder who has taken bulk connection for respective condo.

 

The connection initially is in name of builder and once RWA takes over connection get transfer in their name, interest on security deposit should get credited annually to existing consumner and should reflect in one of the DHBVN bill.

If this is happening then ideally this amount should get credit equally to all resident (owners).

 

I am enclosing two documents

 

a) DHBVN Brochure on Bulk Connection : (for Domestic Connection)

Consumption Security Deposit is Rs 1000 * Sanction Load in KW

Also refer: Interest on consumption security / meter security is payable as per Nigam instructions

 

b) DHBVN Circular / Memo on Interest On Security Deposit Payable to Consumer

Sales Instruction No. 5/2009.

 

For socities like Vipul Greens, Park View, Nile, Orchid Petals, CP2 etc bulk connection will be between 2000KW to 4000 KW so security deposit is 20L - 40L

 

Larger Question is DHBVN refunding the interest to respective condominium (Bulk Connection) ??,
