Don't choke on your conversation hearts when you learn that this Friday, February 13 at 9 PM, the Guerrilla Gays will be celebrating a black-hearted Valentines Day by taking over:

Citysearch says the Medusa Lounge "sets the scene for a truly unique atmosphere with arched stone, stained glass and intricate wood carvings. Much of Medusa's decor, such as iron gates and a crystal chandelier, was collected from movie sets over the years."

 

Best of all, there's no cover charge, ample parking on Beverly (and cheap valet parking) plus cheap pitchers of beer.

 

But wait, there's more -- this (and every) second Friday of the month, the mods invade the Medusa Lounge for a platter full of underground mod and sixties music they call Blackeyed Soul.

 

SKINNY TIED-UP

Don't be late, unless you like standing in line with a bunch of bewildered mods.  Blackeyed Soul is a popular night that routinely fills up by 10:30 PM, so you should be fine if you aim for 9 PM (or earlier), but come any later than that, and you may get your heart broken.  (Alternatively, you may meet the love of your life as you wait in line.  So, maybe come anyway.)

 

WEAR YOUR HEART ON YOUR SLEEVE (BUT DON'T GET YOUR SHIRT BLOODY)

Come dressed as either: 

- a goth mod, or 

- a mod goth.  Your choice!

 

Or, just wear red.  We'll bring the arm bands.
