One of the critical attributes in Christianity, but not usually mentioned, is the work of translation, which happens to characterizes our church called TPCSTL. 基督教有一項關鍵性卻少被提及的本質，既是翻譯，湊巧是我們這個稱為大聖路易區台灣人長老教會的教會的特質之一。

When it comes to translation in the church, most people would think of the Bible which has relied on translation. Then, perhaps the hymns. Then the sermon. We tend to forget that the whole idea of the gospel is about translation between human beings and the creator God, as well as the translation among people of different ages, educational backgrounds, mother tongues, the culture in which we grow up, different stages of Church life, etc. 提到教會裡的翻譯，大部分人會想到「完全倚靠翻譯」的聖經，然後是聖詩、講道。我們往往忘了整個福音就是在創造者與人類（被造者）之間的翻譯，以及人與人之間，因著年齡、教育背景、母語、、成長環境文化、教會生活的階段而出現的鴻溝之間的翻譯。

Perhaps we can say that without getting involved in the ministry of translation we don't really understand our faith. 或許我們可以這麼說，「沒有經歷過翻譯事工的話我們並沒有真正瞭解我們的信仰」。

The hymn #171 shows us many things we pray for the Holy Spirit to do to us. Have we prayed that the burden of the church involvement be removed from us? Remember this, "when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” ? 聖詩171首指出一些我們祈求聖靈行在我們身上的事情。我們是否曾經祈求把教會事工重擔從我們肩上除 去。記得嗎？ 「可是聖靈降臨在你們身上，你們就必領受能力，並且要在耶路撒冷、猶太全地、撒瑪利亞，直到地極，作我的見證人。」
