While we have been learning new hymns, published in Taiwan in 2009, every month on the fourth Sunday when we use Taiwanese and English in two separate worship services, we will combined the languages in the Sunday worship this month due to the long weekend and learn 3 hymns in at least three languages this month. 我們一向在每個月的第四個主日,台語跟英語分堂禮拜的主日,練習2009年在台灣出版的新聖詩。這個月,由於遇到陣亡將士紀念日的長假周末,我們進行聯合禮拜,用至少三種語言練習新歌。
The first hymn is 310, "O sing to the Lord". It is a hymn written, from Sediq (a tribe of native Taiwanese) melody, by Pastor Hayu Yudaw, who visited our church twice with the Naruwan chorus of the Yushan Seminary, for which we collected special offering to help supporting a new construction. We sang it once on 2/26/2012. 第一首是310,是由曾經指揮玉山神學院那魯灣合唱團訪問本教會兩次的哈尤.尤道(莊春榮)牧師根據台灣原住民賽德克族的旋律創作的聖詩。我們今年曾經特別為玉山神學院的新建築特別奉獻。我們在 2/26/2012 唱過一次。
O sing to the Lord,
O sing new songs to the Lord and
praise God with hearts full of joy.
How did the mother develop this boy?這位母親怎麼調教出這樣的男孩呢?
I have just realized that I made a mistake in saying that the first hymn is 310, "O sing to the Lord". After I chose the 310 and started studying the hymn I found that I could not find the English version for the 2nd through the fourth verses and the one in the Taiwanese-English edition of the “Seki Sin Sengsi” (PCT Hymnal Supplement)-2007 is not the same version. I decided to wait for new information from the editor of the hymnal and select another. 剛剛發現「第一首是310」是錯誤的訊息。當選擇310手而開始研讀時發現在2007年出版的世紀新聖詩英文版裡面找不到第二到第四節的英文版,而且那個版本所採用的是同一首歌的不同版本。因此,決定繼續找別首聖詩,同時等候編輯部的回音。
I found 313, “Nanay ma dipot kiso”, an Amis melody (For God, Creator’s mercy). 後來找到第313首,是台灣阿美族的歌曲。編者註解文字中文版已經納入第一張投影片裡面。The editor’s note: “Call and Response style of singing reflects the social
structure of the Amis tribe. A cantor or minister should take the role of the call, while the congregation or choir responds in free harmony, with women singing the top notes.”

While we sing this as the opening praise this time, this hymn can be seen as a three-verse hymn praising the trinity God. We can use this as the doxology at the end of the worship service.這次我們用這首歌做為開場的讚美歌,其實也可以把這首聖詩看成是讚美三位一體上帝的三節詩,在禮拜結束前當作「頌榮歌」來唱。
