This programme includes European and Latinamerican Chamber Music, such
as
Telemann - Trio in F-Major for Treble Recorder, Cello and Piano
Beethoven - Minuet in G
Brahms - Hungarian Dance for Violin and Piano
Astor Piazzolla - Milonga sin Palabras
Jose Bragato - Graciela y Buenos Aires for Cello and Piano
Cesar Franck- "Souvenirs d'Aix-la-Chapelle" Op. 7 for Piano solo,
composed in 1843 which will be performed for the first time in the
Western Hemisphere, as the composition was only found recently.
After the intermission, Schubert's Piano trio in B Flat will conclude
the feast of Chamber music.
The performers are no strangers to Jamaican audiences, as Steven
Woodham and Austrian-Jamaican Rosina Christina Moder are members of
"MUSICA XAYMACA", the Jamaican Chamber Music Group.
From 1987 - 1988 American pianist Dr. Laura Kargul was also a member
of this group, aside from teaching piano at the Jamaica School of
Music. The German Cellist Walter-Michael Vollhardt is invited for the
second time by the German Embassy to perform in Jamaica for this
special occasion.
