Here is the summary of the Field Rep position:

Career Full Time Position: $73,132.80 - $79,518.40 Annually

The City of Berkeley has an exciting opportunity for a highly qualified professional to serve as Field Representative. 

 

The current opening is located in the Public Works Department, Zero Waste Division, and will mainly be responsible for zero waste outreach and education to City of Berkeley businesses, multifamily properties, and special events.  Responsibilities will include conducting site visits to assist customers with Zero Waste Division services, providing zero waste training and technical assistance, and verifying compliance with relevant city, county, and state polices and regulations.  This person will assist with the compliance efforts related to the Alameda County Organics Reduction and Recycling Ordinance and SB 1383, which includes conducting onsite waste audits, working with businesses and property owners to minimize recycling contamination, sending non-compliance notifications, and tracking data for state reporting requirements.  This position will be instrumental in helping Berkeley achieve its goal of zero waste sent to the landfill and meeting state recycling and composting mandates.  Out ideal candidate is a flexible team player who can juggle multiple projects at once, is skilled and interested in providing effective messaging to community members, enjoys field-based work and demonstrates the ability to prioritize the City's big picture goals in zero waste, including onsite waste audits and detailed data tracking.
