Sessions will focus on developing a lens of inclusivity in recruitment and hiring practices, clearing career pathways for underrepresented individuals, and creating retention strategies for an inclusive workplace. Go to the Conference Agenda for more details. Cheryl Coleman, Senior Vice-President at the Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries. She previously served as US EPA’s Director for the Resource Conservation and Sustainability Division. Previous to that, she was a Director at the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Cheryl as over 30 years of experience with materials and waste management. José Luis Ramos, Bilingual Business Sustainability Coordinator for the City of Longmont, Colorado. He joined government after running his own business for over 10 years, where he experienced the different needs of small businesses and the challenges of being an entrepreneur in the US. José Luis is an engineer and has a BS in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University. John Carroll, Director of Strategy at the The Parker Wright Group, Inc. John brings to PWG his decades of experience and expertise in strategic planning and leading complex project teams across industries, sectors and continents. John's upcoming book, Canyon Leaping Collaboration, continues his passion for leading groups and teams to visualize their success first and then implement the initiatives to accomplish that success. Cornell Wright, Managing Consultant, The Parker Wright Group, Inc. Cornell is a consultant, author, and business coach. PWG consults with clients in the areas of executive team decision making, talent optimization through a business partner relationship with Predictive Index and Diversity Equity and Inclusion training and organizational enhancement. Fields Jackson, CEO and Chief Cheerleader of Racing Toward Diversity Magazine—a quarterly magazine that showcases the best diversity efforts and initiatives being made today. He is also President of the College Diversity Network; Adjunct professor at Shaw University in Raleigh, NC; Distinguished Visiting Professor at South Carolina State University in Orangeburg; and former Executive Director of the HBCU Business Dean Roundtable. Mara Iverson, Owner & Principal of Mara Iverson Equity Education & Consulting. Mara is a fun-loving, outgoing, and gregarious diversity, equity, and inclusion educator and consultant with more than 10 years of diversity, equity, and inclusion teaching and consulting experience. Loves glitter, rainbows, and smashing inequality. Whitney Cox, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Program Manager at Schnitzer Steel Industries, Inc. Whitney is responsible for implementing Schnitzer’s DE&I strategy, strengthening its culture, and designing processes that sustain the company’s diverse workforce. She is a graduate of the University of Washington with bachelor’s degrees in International Studies and Political Science and she completed Cornells’ Diversity & Inclusion Certificate Program in 2021. Michelle Wiseman, Director of Waste Diversion & Outreach for the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Resilience. With over 12 years in materials management, Michelle’s emphasis is educating and engaging communities on the circular economy as it relates to waste diversion, sustainability, and equity. Her responsibilities include collaborating with internal departments & external stakeholders to support environmental outreach and equitable development within communities.
