A reminder that Save The Albatross Coalition (STAC) is hosting a presentation on the Great Pacific Garbage Patch with Captain Charles Moore, the researcher who first discovered it. Captain Moore will give a short presentation followed by a documentary made in collaboration with the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), then an open discussion. The film follows his 20-year research journey with the Algalita Marine Research and Education team, documenting the 80,000 metric tons of plastic now accumulated there and what microplastic "toxic confetti" is doing to marine ecosystems and human health. Two sessions are available: Wednesday, June 10 at 10:00 AM Pacific, and Wednesday, June 24 at 7:00 AM Pacific for those joining from India, Pakistan, Southeast Asia, and elsewhere around the globe. |
