Our Legislative Successes in California Lead the Nation & Save YOU Money
|
|
All of NSAC’s three sponsored bills were signed into law by Governor Gavin Newsom in the second year of the two-year session. This
follows the passage of NSAC sponsored SB
343 (Sen. Ben Allen) for truth in recycling labeling,
AB
818 (Asm. Richard Bloom) for truth in "flushable" wipes labeling, and
AB
707 (Dr. Bill Quirk) to improve the mercury thermostat EPR program and create a $30 bounty, all in 2021.
Whether you are a waste hauler, municipality, sanitation agency, water district, or hazardous waste manager, we are saving you a LOT of money and stress. The
long term results of the bills that we have passed in the last 24 months will result in literally in millions of dollars of savings to various stakeholders in California and beyond. Whether its reducing contamination by having truth in labeling on recycling
or “flushable” wipes or eliminating mercury lighting sales to prevent them from ending up at your hazardous waste facility, these are real benefits of our work.
