Labels and signage design have a surprisingly complex influence on whether trash, recyclable and compostable items get sorted into the correct bin. There’s a careful
balance between listing enough but not too much detail, as well as displaying the right terminology and images to effectively guide people with limited attention spans. And of course, what works in one setting may not in another.
