to Green Drinks/Tree Hugger Happy Hour New Orleans
This Friday’s Green Drinks/Tree Hugger Happy Hour will unveil the
winning regional designs in the U.S. Green Building Council’s Natural
Talent Design Competition! These regional winners will be going on to
compete nationally for the design of four houses to be built in New
Orleans’ Broadmoor neighborhood as part of the Salvation Army’s
EnviRenew Initiative.
Come find out who won, see the winning entries, and get more info on
the competition. And while you’re at it, get yourself a well-deserved
Friday beer…
As an added element to this week’s Green Drinks/Tree Hugger Happy
Hour, please bring non-perishable food items for the food drive that
the Sierra Club and Second Harvest are holding to benefit Louisiana’s
coastal communities. The Second Harvest Food Bank of Louisiana is
seeing a 25% increase in demand from coastal parishes affected by the
oil spill. Your donations of canned food will help coastal communities
cope with the loss of their livelihood.
Thank you!
When: Friday, July 16 6pm-8pm (approximately)
Where: Bridge Lounge on Magazine St.
Why: to see the Louisiana finalists for a competition for small,
affordable, green home designs to be built in Broadmoor AND to donate
food for those affected by the BP oil disaster
