I happen to speak with Ken Nydam of Covanta today about the possiblity
of generating electricity from the Bolton Landfill. Covanta is the
largest developer and generator of energy from waste to energy and
landfill plants. He is familiar with Bolton. We discusssed the
possibility and he said that the volume of the landfill was too small
to make it financially feasible to install a landfill gas generation
in bolton. He suggested that we speak with Chris McGowan who runs the
DPW in Clinton. Chris used to work for John Gates, Bates
Construction, which is also in Clinton. Bates Construction is one of
the largest developers of landfill gas generation facilities in MA.

Let me know if Ted will contact Chris. If not I will just to be sure
of the conclusion.

Hi Margaret,
If you don't mind, and since you know the players, why don't you contact
Chris re the conclusions. I suspect the conclusion that Bolton is too small
is correct. Wonder if there is anything else that could be done with the
meager amounts of methane produced by the landfill?
