| Ride the Rim 2026 Update Crater Lake National Park has announced that the 2026 Ride The Rim Event will not take place due to major construction projects impacting park roads, trails, and visitor areas. While this decision ensures the safety of visitors and staff, it also reflects a significant investment in the long-term future of the park. Throughout 2026, crews will be working on a series of critical improvements, including repairs and paving along East Rim Drive, rehabilitation of the Cleetwood Cove Trail and Marina, upgrades at North Junction Overlook, and improvements to park facilities. These projects create active construction zones that limit the park’s ability to safely host Ride the Rim this year—but they are designed to enhance the experience for years to come, including future events on a fully rehabilitated East Rim Drive. With these improvements underway, plans are already in motion to bring back Ride The Rim in 2027—better than ever! Importantly, Crater Lake National Park remains open and accessible during construction. While access to the lake via Cleetwood Cove Trail is temporarily closed, visitors can still take in spectacular views along rim drive, explore scenic hiking trails, and experience the park’s high points, where the deep blue lake meets the vast beauty of the Cascade Range. Wildlife viewing and other recreational opportunities remain abundant throughout the park. In the meantime, park staff are actively working with regional partners to explore alternative programming outside of construction zones, helping to maintain strong visitation and create new ways for visitors to experience the area during the shoulder season. Ride the Rim will be missed in 2026, but these improvements are paving the way for an even better experience in the years ahead. The Ride the Rim Team www.ridetherimoregon.com
