Hi all,
So great to see many of you earlier this week at our
volunteer appreciation event and a very successful
community learn to ride!
I'm writing with the first of many fun and meaningful
opportunities for volunteering with Safe Routes to School
this upcoming year, and a bonus one from the City of
Eugene! These are special events, so read on to see if
you're interested and sign up if you can make it. Thank
you!
1) We are partnering with the Scouts to support an
event to help participants earn their bike badge! This
event is organized by a 4J teacher and we'll be helping
with some of the stations. Sign up here to participate:

2) We are holding a Confident Cycling for Families
class, and depending on enrollment, might need a hand at
the bike skills course. This class will be Tuesday,
September 9th from 6-7:30 at Adams Elementary. Please let
me know if you are interested.
3) On Wednesday, Sept 17th we're holding a Latinx
focused, bilingual bike event with Plaza de Nuestra
Comunidad and Cascadia Mobility at Chavez Elementary in
the evening. We would love to have help with teaching
people to ride and a ride on the bike path. Spanish is
helpful, but not required. Sign up here:

4) The City is holding a group ride on the morning of
September 13th to the E. Amazon and High Streets bikeways,
at which point the ride will join with the celebration for
the new Riverfront park. Please contact Jenette Kime, ccd,
if you're interested in helping with the ride. It'll be
about 10:30-noon, starting at Ridgeline Elementary.
Thank you!
Sarah
