Opal Creek Backpacking Trip July 14 - 15

Synopsis:  This two day out and back trip into the Willamette National Forest follows a clear stream, passes several small waterfalls, and visits an interesting old mining settlement. Large Douglas firs and western red cedars line the banks and surrounding countryside. This is a moderate 10.5 miles round trip hike that gains just 500 feet. It works as a perfect tune-up for longer backpacking trips, or just an opportunity to commune with nature.
