পরম করূণাময় ও অসীম দয়ালু আল্লাহর নামে শুরু।
 সকল প্রশংসা জগত সমূহের প্রতিপালক আল্লাহতায়ালার।

হযরত ইবনে উমার (রা) হ’তে বর্ণিত;
তিনি বলেন, আমি রাসুলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লামকে বলতে শুনেছি,
“তোমরা (রামাদানের) চাঁদ দেখলে রোযা শুরু করঃ এবং (সাওয়াল মাসের) চাঁদ দেখে রোযা বন্ধ ক’র; এবং যদি আকাশ মেঘাচ্ছন্ন থাকে (যদি তা দেখা না যায়) তবে রামাদান (ত্রিশ দিন) ধরে নাও”

Narated By Ibn Umar : I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "When you see the crescent (of the month of Ramadan), start fasting, and when you see the crescent (of the month of Shawwal), stop fasting; and if the sky is overcast (and you can't see It) then regard the crescent (month) of Ramadan (as of 30 days)".
