Ongoing Call to Action

The Virginia General Assembly is currently in session. Many of Grassroots priorities (public transit, green energy, and emergency response for disasters) depend on adequate funding. In light of the funding gap caused by Federal policies, we need the Assembly to pass progressive and equitable tax reforms that close loopholes and ensure the wealthy pay their fair share.

Call to Action:

Go to this website: https://hodspeak.house.virginia.gov/committees/H10/bill_feedback

Select the following bills (using Ctrl+F helps):

  • HB 243: corporate welfare tax reform

  • HB 378: extreme wealth tax reform

  • HB 978: Retail and sales tax reform

  • HB 979: Income tax reform

Hit next at the bottom of the page. Fill in details, write in a comment and hit submit. Possible Comment text, which may be tailored and edited:

Federal cuts endanger Virginia emergency preparedness, green energy support, healthcare access, education, and transportation infrastructure. I urge the Assembly to pass progressive and equitable tax reforms that close loopholes and ensure the wealthy pay their fair share. Right now the top 1% pay the least in taxes as a percentage of their income. I urge the General Assembly to pass HB 243, HB 378, HB 978, and HB 979 as critical tax reforms that help ensure the wealthy pay their fair share and will fund vital government programs that support all Virginians.
