Dear Grassroots Group Leaders and Activists,

Please find below a number of Calls to Action for this weekend.  These are important so we can get as many bills passed before crossover this coming week.

Disappointed that the Virginia General Assembly rejected nearly all campaign finance reform bills this session? This is our final opportunity to act. Let's send a strong message expressing our disappointment and urging legislators in the Senate Finance and House Appropriations Committees to preserve the $3 million budget investment to modernize and improve the Virginia Department of Elections campaign finance filing and reporting system. Transparent, accessible reporting strengthens public trust and accountability in our elections. 👉Take action now: Click here.

Tell Your Lawmaker to Fix the Tax Code and Invest in Affordability

Virginia lawmakers say they want to lower costs for families — but that requires investing in schools, health care, and affordable housing that have been underfunded for years. Right now, the tax code lets the wealthiest households in Virginia pay a smaller share of their income in taxes than working families. Senate budget proposals, including a Fair Share tax, would ask those at the top to contribute more, raising new revenue to invest in the systems that help families afford to live and thrive. The Senate money committee will release its full proposal on February 22, and we need Fair Share to be included.
