Moving subdomain to subdomain of new domain

Hi,
the article on Google webmaster tools says this:
In addition, make sure your original site is not a subdomain (for example, http://newsite.example.com).
A little bit further it says:
Make sure that your new site is not a subdomain. For example, you can use www.example.com, but not www.example.com/newsite or http://newsite.example.com.
But what if we have a website http://www.abc.com and our blog is hosted at http://news.abc.com and we want to move both the site and the blog to
http://www.xyz.com and http://news.xyz.com
How do we manage to move the blog that's in the subdomain?
