Hello Everybody,

We just wanted to let everyone know that new milestone builds of the GWT bindings for AJAX SearchGadgetsGears, and Maps JavaScript APIs are now available for download from:

We'd like to reiterate that these are milestone builds and there are still many unknown problems, they are use-at-your-own-risk and they may change between this milestone and the final release.

Here are some highlights of the changes since the last milestone at r41:

- The bindings require Java 1.5 and GWT 1.5 or better.

- Each APIs has been restructured to produce a separate distribution image.  This will enable the APIs to be developed and released independently.

- Added support for the creation of Gadgets in GWT.

- Added support for the automatic creation of manifest files for Gears applications written in GWT -- Check out the Offline class for more details.

- Updated Gears API to support the Gears plugin version 0.2 and also fixed several bugs with the original bindings.

- Lots of updates to the Maps API
  * Updated the bindings to support JS API version 2.98
  * Changed the event interfaces to use the event handler pattern (one interface per JavaScript event).  The old style event listeners have been deprecated and will be removed prior to the final release.
 * Fixed several bugs included in the r41 revision.

- Several bug fixes for the AJAX Search API.

Each binding distribution file includes an updated release_notes.html file that goes into more detail on the set of changes made to each API.

We hope that you'll try them out and let us know what you think.  Please report any bugs in the issue tracker at http://code.google.com/p/gwt-google-apis/issues and discuss it on the contributors forum, http://groups.google.com/group/Google-Web-Toolkit-Contributors.

Thanks,
