We are developing a product using Dojo... and believe me, the initial
response was probably similar to that of YesMail -- a lot of hard
work, some sleepless nights and still, "okie dokie" output.

And then, we noticed GWT... but already, we had invested quite a bit
on initial development so had put GWT on the backburner, until our
first release.

I noticed a project gwt-dojo on Google Code and thought somebody is
already thinking about us. But the project seems to be lost.

So, we decided to do it ourselves.

We formally announced the launch of DWT - Dojo on Google Web Toolkit -
here:

http://eduzine.edujini-labs.com/archives/29-Dojo-on-Google-Web-Toolkit.html

It's in a planning stage right now... but just to ensure that we on
the right track, we cooked up a very basic, very native, very naive
"Hello, World!" application.

The video is available at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vofWWK0lrIk

We would be eager to know if we are reinventing the wheel... if
somebody has already created the Dojo-GWT binding.

And it would be great to seek the support of GWT / Dojo experts out
across the universe! :)

hi Gaurav,

#1
that's is project hook set by Ray Cromwell:
http://timepedia.blogspot.com/
I think he simply never commited sources to that project yet

#2
see that project instead:
http://code.google.com/p/tatami/

#3
and yes, after GWT-EXT/MyGWT/Ext-JS license clashes and bad smell
there is a need to have something instead, e..g dojo ui I think,

regards,
Peter

Why is it licensed under GPL if dojo uses BSD?

I guarantee you will not get community involvement.

Thanks for your valuable suggestion.

I think I will definitely take this into account.

Let me have a word with the team... and look out for the best choice.
I think Apache License is also compatible with BSD... or simple, BSD
may simplify the things (both projects under the same license).

Hey,

I'm back with a good news. Finally got the name that we were looking
for: dwt on SourceForge.

So, the project is officially up at http://sourceforge.net/projects/dwt
(just a couple of days back).

And great thanks for your suggestions, specially regarding the
license.
We're putting this up under The "New" BSD License - same as that of
Dojo.

btw, do you think there are chances of any clash with Apache Public
License 2.0 - under with GWT is released...
Any and all suggestions are valuable.
