Hi,

Can anybody please help me to understand how to compile a search
query, which needs to be searched any where in the page as well as in
the URL?.

My requirement is to compile the query to search for documents. So the
search term may contain any key word, it may be a text in the document
content or can be document name.

I know about "inurl:". But as per my understanding this will help us
to search only in the URL. But i want to search both in URL as well
as in the page. The inurl will help me to search for documents only
if the user provides document name, not for any key word related to
content. User input may be document name or content of the document.

Prince

Only the part directly introduced with inurl is considered part of the URL.

not_in_url inurl:part_in_url not_in_url

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your response!!.

Is there is any option to use AND between these query terms?

i mean, /Search?q=not_in_url AND inurl: part_in_url

I am just trying to find more options to refine the search and get the
exact result which user is looking for.

My customised UI contains different input options, where user can
provide various keyword seperated with AND, OR.

So the UI is like -

Document Name - EXACT / ANY of these words - input doc
name to search here - AND
Document Contains - EXACT / ANY of these words - input doc
contains - OR
Site Name - EXACT / ANY of these words - input
sitename - AND
.
- OR
.
.
.

Can you please suggest a best and optimised to way to achive this
task?

Hi Prince,

If you want to search for results taht have the term on either
location, you don't have to use any special query term.
By default the GSA will search over the URL and content.

If you want to display results that have the query term in both the
url and body...
I'm afraid you cant.
