removal of URLs from the index

I have a list of sharepoint sites which has been deleted. All these
sites are in the GSA index. To remove this from the index immediatley
I pushed a feed with action="delete" and the respective URLs . When i
checked the crawl diagnostics i am seeing these URLs been crawled just
after i pushed the feed. But still these URLs are shown in the search
results.But I don't want to see this URLs in the search result. What
should I do?

I am looking for options other than the following
- adding the URLs in the remove URLs tab of the Serving >> Front Ends
in GSA
- adding the URL in "Do Not Crawl URLs with the Following Patterns"
list
