It appears to me that a search result list can't be exported to a file
via Google Mini. We have a request to provide this feature in our
search application and wanted to doublecheck to see if there is a way
to do this that I'm missing.

When the Mini indexes Outlook emails, it doesn't index attachments. Is
there a way to enable this or is the Mini unable to index attachments?

Hi,

- I am not sure if I understand your question about exporting search
results. Anyway you can remove the "&proxystylesheet" parameter from
your search query to get the search results in XML format. Hope this
helps.

- You should be able to use OWA(Outlook Web Access) and crawl them as
web pages. However, I would use Google Desktop search for indexing
Outlook email messages. This way you can even Index the Outlook PST
files and search them efficiently.

Cheers,

Thanks for the reply. The question about exporting search results is
that the end users would like to be able to click a button and the end
user would be able to output the search results as a file on their
desktop. Based on your information, it sound like the only way to do
that would be to render an XML doc and display in the browser and
they'd have to save from the browser?

In regards to the msg and pst files, they reside on a file server, so
opening them in OWA would be a kludge. Other enterprise search systems
can index these files on the file server (both the email and
attachments), I was just curious if the Mini could do the same, ut it
doesn't sound like it.
