Hi All,

Currently I'm working with GSA in sharepoint and at the moment i'm
facing a question.
We have a Collection "X", that collection has 6 sites, and i'm able to
find what I want in that collection, but now the business needs is :
How can I search for each site within the collection?

I found out that it's possible by using the query: "test
site:site:http:/sitenamecomeshere.com", so i'm searching the word
"test" in one site of that collection. OK

BUT, if my team had to write, every single search, this query
everybody is got confused and it'll not flow.

HOW COULD I HIDE THAT QUERY FROM THE "SEARCH INPUT TEXT" ? It can be
made just by using the URL ? How Can i set the URL?

Or if have any solution easier than that ....

I will appreciate your attention

Regards,
Susan

Why not create collections for each "site" and then modify the search box to add a radio button (or drop-down) where the user can select the 'site' they want to search and then it will search the collection of documents from that single site?  That way the search field will just contain the search terms.

To elaborate just a bit on Terry's answer, these would be GSA
collections as opposed to SP collections. You can create a GSA
collection that matches URL patterns, and use that as a filter when
you search.

Hi Terry and Dave,

I really appreciate your attention and guidance....
I will create the collections for each site, that is the appropriated solution... i've thought it could be difficult to the support team, but isn't.

Thank you Guys !
