I am looking for a way to remove the initial GMapEZ image when the map
loads. I want to find a way to remove or edit it. To still advertise
for the creator of this I will be creating a link on my site that
advertises GMapEZ.

I had already talked to him and he was thinking of charging me. Well
after much time I found out that I had been looking for the wrong
thing in the wrong place. I had found logo3 in the code and just
removed it. Thanks for your help though. And thanks Chouser for
pushing me to do it myself.

If you choose to remove GMapEZ logos and/or add other logos that might
suggest to a casual user that you're not in fact using GMapEZ, please
consider making a financial donation at
http://n01se.net/gmapez/donate.html
If you're doing work for an employer, seek to have your employer pay
for the work its using.

I do have options besides simply asking nicely. I could choose to
make GMapEZ no longer free. As far as I know, I cannot use the GPL
and yet disallow the removal of logos or other similar changes, but I
could convert GMapEZ to shareware, nagware, or some other kind of
non-open-source project. I could sensor the discussion here to
prevent the sharing of hints and tips of this kind. But I don't
really want to do any of those things. I use free software made by
others, and this is one way I can "give back" a little. But I also
try to respect the wishes of the authors of the software I use, and
I'd appreciate the same kind of respect.

In general I do feel like the users of GMapEZ are helpful and
respectful, and I'd hate to give any other impression. So, let me
take a moment to thank all of you who use GMapEZ, especially those who
work hard to follow my requests to leave the logos intact, put up
"powered by" links back to my site, and host GMapEZ on your own
servers. Thanks to all of you who contribute by answering questions,
offering suggestions, pointing out bugs, and offering code patches.
Thanks to those of you who have made monetary donations or hired me to
add specific features.
