weekly data referring to past seven days or to 7 days ahead?

I would like to use weekly google trends data, but would need to merge
it with another dataset. Is the weekly data provided by google trends
referring to the avg of the past seven days (which would be intuitive,
I guess), or is the data referring to the avg of the upcoming seven
days (possible as the downloaded csv file always contains a zero for a
current week). Any idea?
