Price to earnings methodology?

What is the methodology for calculating price to earnings?

Google Finance shows 96 for AMD yet other providers shows 176.

Surely its Price / Diluted EPS?

I use GOOGLEFINANCE(StockSymbol,"pe"), it returns normally 12months ratio
