Problems working together with Soundblaster Audigy 2 ZS

Just found your cool volume control and added it to my sidebar. It
works on my Dell Laptop, but on my Dell XPS 600 with the Soundblaster
Audigy 2 ZS software package installed it doesn't work. It appears in
the sidebar with mute on and the volume slider at zero, even though I
am now listening to iTunes on my computer.

I can click the mute button to unmute it, but when I move the slider
bar, the control goes back to the mute state with the slider bar at
zero.

In other words, I think it has a hard time dealing with the fact that
the Audigy software package is also trying to controle the volume?
