What is the Google Desktop TVSet gadget group?

The Google Desktop TVSet gadget group is an unmoderated forum for users
to have discussions about the Google Desktop TVSet gadget. This group
is currently available only through the Google Groups. Any user with a
question or comment about using Google Desktop to search with the TVSet
gadget may post here.

Google Desktop is a free application that enables you to instantly find
information on your own computer, including email, files, web history,
and chats. You can search web pages you've visited and even view them
offline. Google Desktop is available to download at
http://desktop.google.com. For more information, please visit the
Google Desktop help center at http://desktop.google.com/support.

Occasionally Google employees may post to the group. Any Google
employee who participates in the group will always post with the name
"Google Employee".

The Google Desktop TVSet gadget group encourages free and open
discussion on all aspects of the Google Desktop TVSet gadget. However,
posts not on this topic are not welcome. We reserve the right to delete
posts that we consider inappropriate.

In addition, this group explicitly prohibits
* The posting of commercial advertisements or other promotional
material
* Spamming/excessive multi-posting
* Chain letters
* Binary (non-text) postings
* Forgery of another user's identity

When I type in the URL for various american free tv AFTV sites, it
doesnt seem to appear on my Google TV Set?

Well, that's a webpage, it isn't actually a video (urls ending in .asx
-not aspx - are videos, for example..).

A simple way to see what you can or can't add: The gadget uses a
Windows Media Player object to play the video. So whatever would need
WMP to be played can be added as an url.

I cant figure out how to install it, i click on downolad and it's seems
there no default application to run it if i save on disk it doesnt get
recognized by google desktop, the same is with any google gadget but i
cant find any explanation for this.
