After months of working well, it's stopped!

I installed this on my laptop running Windows Vista Home Premium last
year. The last few weeks it's had trouble starting but would
eventually get going. Today I'm getting an error message that it won't
run on Vista. Why would it change and what can I do to get it running
again? There's nothing quite like it...

Well how about that - I got rid of the gadget, restarted, and
reinstalled it. Now it works! Who knows why...
