Bookmarks has vanished???

So, today I go on to Chrome and something looks different - my bookmark tabs are gone and my bookmarks are gone also!  

There is an option to upload favorites from Mozilla or IE, which I rarely use, so that's not really an option at all.  

I go to check my other browsers and IE opens to a message that says : "Microsoft Security Essentials has detected and removed unwanted software from your computer that compromised your Internet browsing settings..."  

Arg. >:(

I'm thinking this is what happened to my bookmarks.  There isn't a way to get them back is there?
