I have been following the tutorial recently on how to do the whole
post function method using JSON.
as I've come to the end of the end of the tutorial and not tasted
sucess i ask one question... Do I need to have some sort of TOMCAT
server or special server side information to get my server to process
the posted information.

any help would be gratefully recieved.,

No, you shouldn't need Tomcat, etc. You just need to make sure you're
getting the JSON and parsing it correctly. It's tough to tell you
anything more than that without some sort of link, code, or something
to your application.
