Weekly Workout – Wednesday, May 3: Steps tour

📍 Where: East gate of Kezar Stadium
🏃 Workout:
I learned that WalkSF will hold an event called The SF Stair Challenge on Sat, May 6. Of course, SF is known for its hills. But we also have some pretty stairs.
So to honor the SF Stair Challenge, let's have a GGRC Steps Tour. We go through Hidden Garden Steps (Kirkham and 16th), 16th Avenue Tiled Steps (Lawson and 16th), and Farnsworth Steps (Farnsworth and Edgewood). This route also features photogenic spots like Grand View Park and Mt Sutro.

This is a no-drop run. We regroup at a handful of locations. One-third of the route is a trail. So you might consider wearing a pair of trail shoes. Also, some parts have moderate traffic, and the other part is narrow. Please enjoy the view and friendly conversation with your peers as well as be mindful of your surroundings.
(Side B option) We run rain or shine. So, less likely, but if weather conditions don't allow this run, we'll do 1K repeats on JFK Promenade. Between Conservatory Dr and 10th Ave, that's 1 KM. You do out-and-back repeat 3 times, a total of 6 KM. I suggest running at a 5K or 10K pace, and up to 2 minutes recovery in between.
🔋 Post Workout:
If we do the Steps tour, and if you are careful, you can find the name of the bar on Hidden Garden Steps. Let’s go to Yancy's Saloon (734 Irving St, between 8th and 9th Ave). It’s a dive bar where you can bring your own food. There are many food options around the area, so join us for food and drinks too.
