VAT letter from Godrej

I received a letter from Godrej today that some HC ruling has come last month and they are now calculating our VAT liability and shall send a demand notice for the same shortly . Some forums are telling that it will be around 4-5 % which come to 4-5 Lakhs for 1 cr house which is really high .. I spoke to few other friends who have bought property with other buliders and they told me that they have taken stand not to pay this as VAT shld be borne by Builder .. Not sure what we all need to do this in this ..Can someone guide on this ..

Completely agree - we should take a United stand and not pay this. Also, it's Godrej fault that they delayed the apartment possession.  Why should we bear the cost for the same...
