I only get "Service no longer available" notice. Say it isn't so, I
miss my notifier

its hasnt been available to me for over a year, just stopped working
one day. the only thing I currently have it for is as a way to
establish gmail as my default email at websites. I hope this continues
to function, but I always have the exclamation point on the envelope
on my bottom task bar.

Maureen,
There is a patch to install which updates the registry entry and makes
Gnotify work perfectly with https!
Google for Gnotify and you should find the patch (notifier_https.zip).
It's supposed to be self installing!

Karina,
Are you referring to the Gmail Notifier from Google, or from Alexeyev
- or perhaps the Gmail gadget in iGoogle?
TTBOMK (since I use both of the first two) the first two are still
working fine - but the iGgoogle gadget (which uses https) is currently
broken. It does work in http, but you have to stop and restart it
tomake that change.
We are (still) waiting for Google to fix this problem (along with a
couple of others which got broken recently!) - but at least they know
about those!

Karina,
Further to my previous reply, (if it is the iGoogle issue) then Google
have make an announcement regards it at

I am using the gmail gadget in igoogle and getting the notice:
"The Gmail gadget does not support the "Always use https" setting that
you chose in full Gmail. If you would like to use https, please open
full Gmail. Learn more "

The registry fix does not work for the gadget, sinve this gadget is a
GOOGLE product, is there any plan to fix it?

Can I refer you to my later posting of April 30th - which isn't in
relation to the Notifier, but IS related to the iGoogle issue!
