Use POP access from one of your other accounts to import all the mail
from which ever account you wish to delete.

Keep in mind that deleting the account will mean that you will not be
able to reactivate this in the future.

You can delete the Gmail account by going to this page: https://www.google.com/accounts/EditServices

Keep in mind that you won't be able to recreate the account for quite a long time.

I don't think you can ever recreate the account... :) I tried with an
ID I deleted 2 years back and It's still not available for creation.

Yeah, I think the official time is 9 months minimum, but it doesn't give a maximum. :)

I also have several gmail accounts. If you delete the one you don't
want, it won't affect the others - you'll still have them. Each
account would have to be deleted separately. Here's the procedure,
copied from the Gmail Help Center...

1. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page.
2. Open the Accounts tab.
3. Click Google Account settings.
4. Click Edit next to My services on the right side.
5. Click Delete Gmail Service.

Just be sure you're doing this from the gmail address you want to
delete! I deleted one of my unwanted accounts this way, and I still
have all my other accounts.

Also, be sure you forward any emails you want to keep to another
address before you close (delete) that email address, because you
won't be able to access that address anymore once it's deleted.

Hope this answers your question. :-)

P.S. Gmail encountered an error while I was trying to post, and it
told me to try again later. I hope this won't post multiple times!

Deni:

I went through the steps you outline below; however, I did not find
the Step 5 when I click on Edit??

I don't have anything saying "Delete Gmail", only if you want to
change to another e-mail address?
