hey, do you know what 'muted' tag means?

I've got another ordinary mail from my mailing list and my filter
automatically archived it and added it a tag and from some reason it
got another tag: 'muted'.
whats that?

That means that whenever you get a reply as part of that conversation, it will automatically get archived.  This is used if you are part of a forum that gets a ton of replies that you don't really care about.  You can "mute" the conversation so you still receive all the replies, but they don't keep showing up in your inbox.
