You no longer need the lab for inserting images as Gmail now provides ability in the new compose/reply windows.  Disable that lab and then click on the plus sign at the bottom of the compose window.  Then select the camera icon.  The mouse-over text for it says "Insert photos" but it can be used to upload images from your computer or from the internet.

I finally got around to enabling a couple of the Labs. Neither of them seem to work - but maybe I just don't understand how to use them correctly.

"Insert Image" into the body of a gmail - is it necessary to have the image already uploaded to a URL, like pbase.com? That might work. But I can't drag-and-drop images into the gmail, and I can't Copy and Paste either. "Offline" is not enabled.

Calendar gadget - this claims to add a box showing the Calendar at the left hand side of the gmail screen - but there's no indication of the Calendar after enabling this lab.

It seems that either these labs don't work, or (much more likely) I'm trying to implement them wrong. Any thoughts?

Ken - Tried the new Compose and Reply windows. They do look different, but so far everything I need is there. The ability to embed photos is very  helpful, and the ability to send large files will be a great help in my photography work. Thanks for the tip.
