No ability to send messages through Outlook

Dear all

I'm getting the below message for the last 24 hours or so. I cannot
send any emails out through outlook although running "Test Account
Settings" runs successfully

I'm confused, because pop.gmail.com is for received emails, not for sending
emails. Perhaps that should be smtp.gmail.com. On the other hand, I'm not
running IMAP on this PC so I can't check the settings to see if IMAP does
something different.

Hi Andy

you raised a good point. Neither IMAP nor POP are for sending
emails and indeed this is strange error report. Nonetheless I managed
to resolve the problem. The email address of one of the outgoing
emails was defective (althugh looked right on the 'To' line). I
rewrote the email address and it went out.
