Chicago-Based Non Profit Needs Your Help!

After School Matters needs your help recruiting HR professionals to
teach career readiness skills to Chicago’s teens. Please forward this
to your networks. HR Professionals will use their expertise to make a
difference to Chicago's teens!

What?
HR Professionals will partner with an After School Matters program and
teach a weekly workshop on career readiness skills. The content for
each week will be designed in advanced. Volunteers will partner with
After School Matters instructors to:
• teach teens best practices for writing cover letters and resumes
• describe industry standards for professional communication and
attire in teen-friendly language
• equip teens with strategies for success during all stages of the
application and interview process from first contact to follow-up
• build teens’ awareness about the next steps for achieving their
career goals

When?
Up to 2 hours per week from October to December. Many programs start
between 3 and 4 PM.

Where?
Opportunities are available around the city of Chicago. After School
Matters functions in over 50 high schools and at several downtown
locations.
