No.

Skills is a seperate program that happens to be on the same night.

There is no additional skills cost even if those sessions are used for academy as well. Since you academy costs cover a practice and a skills each week it would unlikely that any would attend a seperate skills development program even if it was on a different night.

The Approximate cost for academy is correct. There could be other costs there depending on where a team played (indoor, primetime, pal). Right now the junior academy plays in the nmcsl leage so no league costs.

There will be a uniform costs as well. Probably in the 30.00 range. Once teams are all wearing the AFC uniforms this would not be required for future seasons unless a new size was needed.

Darren:
Just want to confirm cost ...

$200 for the fall Academy season
$ 85 for Skills for fall season
$ 85 for BAYFA rec fall season
-----
$370 for fall if we want to play Academy

Then add another $370 for the Spring and we're up to $740 for the year.  Correct?

Thanks,

Mark

Good morning, you are recieving this email as a registered U8/U9 girl for the Fall Recreational Season.

We would like to extend an invitation to come out and check out our Academy opportunties that we are developing for this season.

Academy soccer is about development at a higher level than rec, and can involve additional game opportunities to put those skills into practice.

We will be holding academy skills practice tonight at Green Valley U8Girls will be held at 5:30 - 6:30 and U9 Girls will be held at 7:45 - 8:45.

Cost for Academy will be in the neighborhood of $200.00 dollars depending on how the coaches assigned to the team and the league that the teams play in.  This money would not all be due up front, so please don't let that hinder the interest that a child may have in this additional growth opportunity.

We are working to finalize numbers in these age groups, so if you are not able to make it tonight, but want to be included please email me and we will make sure you are on the list and included in the numbers when team decisions are made.

If you have any questions, please let me know and we will do our best to answer them.

This is an evolving program so we may not have all the answers right away, but we will get them for you.

Your participation is key to growing this program into a cost effective development opportunity for many years to come.

Thank you for your interest and participation.

Does anyone know why the cost went up so much? I thought it was much less last season??

Thanks,

My guess is because Ken coached for free last season. The extra $115 is to pay for the Challenger group and the administrative costs to run an academy.

I’m not sure what’s going on the cost but here is the correct structure:
Everyone has to be registered to play recreational soccer to play Academy therefore; everyone has paid $85 recreational fee to play on your various outdoor teams.  You shouldn’t count this fee as part of the Academy fee because it’s a separate program.
The Academy fee is $200 and covers one (1) practice a week, one (1) skills session a week, referee’s for 8 games, a Challenger coach for practice and games and Challenger fees.
Not included is the uniform fee which we estimate to be around $30; could be a little more but not much.  Indoor and tournaments are not included; if the team elects to participate in those that would be an additional cost.
Because there are more teams this season, your fee is actually less this season than it was last season; your total Academy cost should be very close to $230 for the Fall season.
I hope this clears up any confusion on the cost; let me know if you have any other questions.

Ken/Bradley/Darren:
I'm hoping that you can answer a few questions that I have.  I wasn't at last Wednesday's session so if these questions were covered then I apologize ...

(1) Are we able to sign up for Academy yet?  Or was the sign-up sheet that was passed around last week the "official" list?
(2) Do we have a roster of girls playing on the U8 team?  Or at least has somebody polled the girls that played last season to see if they are returning?
(3) Do we have a coach assigned yet?
(4) When are practices starting?  Or are the ad-hoc Wed afternoon sessions considered practice for the team?
(5) I've heard conflicting reports about the girls from NW Ft. Worth.  Are they to be integrated into our team?

Thanks,

Mark

The information about payment is listed below on the previous e-mail I sent and Academy registration forms where handed out last Wednesday evening which I have 6 back already.

There is no roster yet; the team was polled by the previous manager and myself before we both changed our plans about returning and at that time 10 where returning. Whoever is going to take over the managers duties will need to contact any players you haven't heard from yet.

There is a coach assigned but Brad will have to address questions 3 thru 5.
