Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA EAM (Enterprise Asset Management) Functional Consultant / Lead to support a large industrial client engagement. The consultant will lead the design and implementation of SAP EAM solutions focused on maintenance operations, work management, MRO inventory integration, and procurement processes integrated with SAP Ariba.

 

The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA EAM, maintenance planning and scheduling, warehouse integration, and asset-intensive industry operations.

 

Key Responsibilities

SAP EAM / Asset Management

Lead end-to-end SAP S/4HANA EAM solution design and implementation covering:

 

Maintenance notifications and work orders

• Preventive maintenance (maintenance plans and task lists)
• Corrective, breakdown, and shutdown maintenance
• Asset hierarchies, functional locations, and equipment management
• Complete work order lifecycle management:
• Create
• Plan
• Schedule
• Execute
• Close

Enable role-based process segregation between:

• Planner
• Scheduler
• Supervisor
• Technician

Work Management & Scheduling

• Design and configure maintenance scheduling processes using standard SAP S/4HANA EAM capabilities, including:
• Weekly and daily maintenance scheduling
• Capacity-based scheduling by work center and craft
• Preventive maintenance prioritization vs backlog work
• Schedule freezing and dispatch management
• Execution tracking and schedule compliance reporting
• Variance analysis for maintenance execution
• MRO Warehouse & Inventory Integration

 

Integrate EAM processes with warehouse and MRO material management operations.

 

Support:

• Directed picking for maintenance orders based on:
• Required dates
• Order status
• Optimized bin sequencing
• Directed putaway for inbound and returned MRO materials
• Staging, issuing, returns, and inventory counting for maintenance execution
• Ensure accurate inventory movement tracking tied to maintenance work orders.
• Procurement & SAP Ariba Integration

 

Design and support integration between SAP S/4HANA EAM and SAP Ariba for:

• External services procurement
• MRO material sourcing
• Purchase requisitions and purchase orders generated from maintenance orders
• Service entry sheets
• Goods receipts
• Invoice verification
• Support procurement governance, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Inventory Accuracy & Controls

 

Support inventory control processes for MRO materials, including:

• Cycle counting
• Physical inventory
• ABC-based counting strategies
• Storage location and bin-based inventory management
• Inventory reconciliation tied to maintenance operations
• Business Partnership & Leadership

 

Serve as the EAM functional lead working with stakeholders across:

• Maintenance
• Operations
• Reliability Engineering
• Supply Chain
• Procurement

 

Responsibilities include:

• Translating operational maintenance requirements into scalable SAP solutions
• Advising on SAP best practices
• Supporting testing, cutover, training, and hypercare activities
• Leading functional workshops and cross-functional discussions

 

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands-on SAP EAM / Asset Management experience
• Proven SAP S/4HANA EAM implementation or conversion experience
• Strong expertise in:
• Maintenance work management
• Work order planning and scheduling
• MRO inventory and warehouse integration
• Strong SAP Ariba integration experience
• Experience in asset-intensive industries such as:
• Manufacturing
• Utilities
• Oil & Gas
• Chemicals
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting shutdown, turnaround, or outage maintenance
• Exposure to SAP EWM or WM-integrated MRO warehouse environments
• Experience with SAP Fiori applications for EAM and warehouse operations
• Experience supporting globally distributed asset environments
