Doc,
That is why unlike George I am forever questioning the INTELLIGENCE of our Leaders back home in Ghana. Just as Kwame Tuffuor has posted , what we qualified Ghanaians can offer in terms of  skills, experience, knowledge, and ability can be quantified in probably Billions of Dollars. But do they understand that ?

Look Ghana's problems as far as I am concerned are "Chicken Feed" to the complex problems we solve on a daily basis.

All we need is a group of trained skilled people sitting down, bouncing ideas off each other coming out with a plan and strategy.

Some of us wake up in the money and we think STRATEGY & IMPLEMENTATION PLANS.

Its easy peasy!

In Ghana it 's  is a storm in a Tea Cup!

These white guys would always mae money out of us because they think we are s3b3 seb3 "Animals" and its a fact.

I work with these people and I know how they think!

What do we tell Nananom or the Nii meeii in Life yonder?

Ben,

Read this attached and see where the objectives of even hiring our own people is left to foreigners to make money.

“There has been a massive shift in paradigm, and a call to transform HR into a strategic business partner and to view our people as human capital. Winning organisations will be those that can attract and retain the best people, help them build their capabilities and get them to share their knowledge and to use their knowledge to build winning products and services for the organisation. Now, more than ever, organisations must work to create and manage an effective

talent management in order to stay ahead of the competition in this new talent-driven economy”

Talk of Africa and our independence, Kwame Nkrumah should be turning in his grave to note the President’s office cannot even make a decision that Ghana needs expertise in ensuring a standard reliability in delivery of electricity from the current 50-75% on-time to a 99.95% minimum delivery, even when a service of a Ghanaian is offered free.

However we are prepared to host a foreign firm to invite and talk about Human Resources and drink minerals and tea!

Sad day!

Stephen,
Solving even our little family problems is not easy! It is a simplistic approach to assume that our problems are lingering on because of lack of intelligence on the part of our leaders and because of greed and thievery.
Within the period 1979 to 1989 we had minimal corruption and Rawlings collected some of our brightest technocrats to think and strategize to solve our problems. And we did not do too well. And the world has become more complex and local problems become globalized and tricky.
We now have to contend with Parliament, complying with the Constitution and Procurement Act; all time intensive!
You guys can help if you altered you mode of operation; take one issue, research it well and come with solutions based on best country and next generation practices. And if these are presented without the usual insults we may get some traction in building up a critical mass of transformational doers.
I suspect that without changes the whole Forum concept may prove misguided and unproductive in terms of getting the issues that impact the marginalized in our communities!
I do really wish you guys well and success! We cannot afford as a nation for you guys to fail! That is why I agonize about the approach and the simplistic view about the issues and how to tackle them!
With warm regards!
