im in need of some advice...

I have been friends with this guy for 2 years and we are pretty close
like best friends, but i like him more than just as a friend. All my
friends know but im not sure if he does, well i havent told him. Also
he has a longterm girlfriend, just to add that one in there! he tells
me when he's drunk that he wishes things could be different and that
he thinks im amazing and that if he didnt have a girlfriend then it
would be me and him and whilst i dont take it hugely seriously,
friends are always like oooh the truth comes out when people are drunk
etc.

Anyway, i have recently been on a 3 month trip in which i was in
contact with everyone from home. i sent him facebook comments, 1 email
and a couple of texts and he didnt get in contact once. Hes gone to
uni and moved house and stuff and while ill give him a bit of slack
for that its been 3 months!!!

I'm not really sure what to do, id really like to think i would have
the will power to get over it and just let him get on with his life
hes still a really close friend and id really like not to lose him
altogether.
