protopiper - spiral tubes from packaging tape

I was grateful to see the posting  of the interesting folding spiral tube material for tripods and related uses. However, I can't seem to find the posting.   It occurred to me that those who are interested in such things might also find this interesting, and potentially useful.  I could not help noticing the "umbrella" illustration, as one could imagine doing this with pents, hex's and other polygons to form variable and/or folding polyhedrons.  Also has obvious applications with tensegrity projects.
 Even if it is not ideal for actual structures, it certainly can be an asset in prototyping.
