Hi,

Just discovered this group while looking for answers to my questions
I'm trying to give community a tool for 3d printed hub for 1V to 5V geodesic dome.
My understanding of advanded geometry case is kind of limited, but i have a good mechanical vision.

I come to you for a question about Dihedral angle if i use to good word for what i mean.
Simply explained, from a top view of the connector, the angle between each branch.
I figured that they were not equal on each hub.

But i would like to get the calculation method for any model like 3V 5/9 Kruschke or 4V or 5V.

Would you be able to point some ressources about this calculation ?

Thanks !

I think to correct word is : Radial Angle

That post would be something but attached quite hard to understand with the excel file :

Hi Florian. I dig what you're doing. I just started working with CAD to improve my dome hubs, which are mass produced by BadgerPlug. Let's talk about it. I've been building domes for a couple years now. Shoot me a text if/when you're interested in chatting. 262-444-9785

Hi Florian and Lemondealc,
Here's an image giving the radial, face and axial angles for the 3v icosa Kruschke dome. Florian, if you are interested in the  trigonometric equation for a dome's radial angles, let me know and I will post it, although it may not be in its simplest form. Do you use Excel or a similar spreadsheet program?

Wow great !!

About how i pick up hubs and angles :
I hand-pickup every hub from dromerama visualisation (with possible human error from my side)
then i modify one of your old excel script and hand pick opposite strut to auto make Radial angle calculation (with possible human error)
Not the best !
Is there a possible calculation for Radial angle of each hub like yours ?
I would like alse to calculate number of connector of each type

See attached the hack from yours
I'm happy that i found same angle as the ones your provide !!!!

Florian,

You won't find my hubs on domarama, but I think you'll like them.

Here is a link to my YouTube channel.

Let me know what you think!
